Moezzi's approach to the history of architecture emerges from a unique intertwinement of drawing, history, and theory, using drawing not simply as an object of study but as a critical method for understanding historical and theoretical questions. His work is grounded in the politics of representation and inhabitation and the dialectical relationship between them, informed by the writings of Robin Evans, Marco Frascari, and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. His research focuses on the history and theory of architectural drawing, particularly the 1960s–2000s transition from hand drawing to CAD and the embodied perceptual conditions that shaped this technological shift. Developed through the doctoral dissertation Questions of Seeing, Imagining, and Touching: A Hyperdialectical Phenomenology of Architectural Drawing after the Digital Image (1960s–1990s) at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, University of Calgary, the work articulates a hyperdialectical method for interpreting the representational transformations that occurred as computers evolved from assistants to intelligent agents. From this perspective, the term CAD is argued to be historically inaccurate today, and the term HAD (human-aided design) is proposed as a conceptual reframing. Central to this approach is the attunement between the phenomenal and objective body, positioning drawing as a mode of architectural thinking grounded in how humans see, touch, imagine, and inhabit space. As a Friend of the Canadian Architectural Archives (CAA), Moezzi engages with archival materials that reveal broader representational shifts in Canadian architectural history. His scholarly work appears with Routledge, Bloomsbury, and Intellect, in AHRA proceedings, and in venues such as Streetnotes (UC Davis), and has been presented internationally at UAAC (University of Toronto, Canada), SAHANZ colloquia (UNSW Sydney and University of Canberra, Australia), the University of Porto's drawing conference (Portugal), the University of Nottingham’s architectural research events (United Kingdom), and SSAC meetings at the Universities of Manitoba and Calgary (Canada). His drawings have been exhibited at the Washington–Alexandria Architecture Center (United States), Marywood University (United States), and within the École nationale supérieure network (France).
